WOSA 2018 : About WOSA

National Board of Accreditation is organising the fourth world summit on accreditation to be held in September 2018 from 07th to 09th at New Delhi.

WOSA series brings together eminent speakers from industry, corporate and academia from India and overseas to facilitate free discussion on subjects relating to best practices in accreditation and means to improve quality of education through these practices. The discussion and global participation in WOSA 2018 will bring about new ideas and help in establishing new trends of identifying opportunities and challenges in professional education world-wide.

Background

World Summit on Accreditation (WOSA) is a biennial summit organized by NBA which provides platform to its stakeholders to share their knowledge and information on accreditation. The first World Summit on Accreditation (WOSA 2012) was organized in March 2012 which was followed by the second (WOSA 2014) in March 2014 and third (WOSA 2016) in March 2016. The themes of first three summits were “Achieving Excellence through Accreditation”, “International Recognition of Education Qualification” and “Quality Assurance through Outcome Based Accreditation”, respectively. All the three summits were well received, appreciated and welcomed by academicians, industry and policy - makers and attended by around 900 participants, each time.

Themes and Sub-Themes

The theme of WOSA 2018 is “CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES IN OUTCOME BASED ACCREDITATION” and the sub-themes are:

  • Sub-Theme 1 – Achieving Excellence through Learning Outcomes.
  • Sub-Theme 2 - Role of Industry in Technical Education.
  • Sub-Theme 3 – Ranking and Rating of Higher Education Institutions – Do they have a Role in Quality Improvement?
  • Sub-Theme 4 -  Linking Government Funding with Quality.
  • Sub-Theme 5 – Use of ICT in Accreditation in Large Jurisdictions
